It is present in Western Ghats range of Karnataka, India surrounding with dense forests. Kukke Subramanya Swamy is adored as the Lord of all serpents.


The temple is one of the pristine Indian pilgrimage location. People worship Lord Subrahmanya, the lord of all serpents.

Lord Subrahmanya lies on the famous mountain of Kumara Parvatha and the Shesha Parvatha looks like protecting the temple shrine.

The history behind this place reveals that the divine serpent king Vasuki was performing tapas for several years here to avoid the attack of Garuda.

It is also one of the popular hiking destination for tourists coming from all parts of the world. It can be easily reached by train, buses or taxis.


The temple lies on the banks of river 'Dhara' which originates in the Kumara mountain passing to the western sea.

By Air:

The closest air connectivity to Kukke Subrahmanya is the Mangalore International Airport (Bajpe Airport) located at a distance of 115 km.

By Rail:

The nearest rail head is Subrahmanya Road (SBHR) Railway Station, which lies on Mangalore-Bangalore railway route at 7 km from Kukke Subrahmanya.


It takes 15-minute drive from station to the temple.
