Kurnool Fort or Konda Reddy Buruju

Kurnool Konda Reddy Fort

Fortunately, we got a chance to visit the famous Sri Sai Baba Mandiram when we actually planned to see the famous Konda Reddy Buruju [Konda Reddy Fort] located in the heart of the Kurnool city.

It's one of the best prominent place in the town built by Achyuta Devarayalu of Vijayanagar Empire.

We went to this Kurnool Fort on a bright sunny day and spend a couple of hours there learning its glorious history.

It is easy to get a complete panoramic view of Kurnool city from the top of two-story magnificent Fort.

Here are some snaps of Konda Reddy Buruju for the viewers

Sri Shirdi Saibaba Devasthanam

A walk-away distance from the fort is the famous Shirdi Saibaba Devasthanam in Kurnool. It hardly takes 5minutes by walking for us to reach this divine temple.

Shirdi Saibaba Devasthanam Kurnool

Temple Name: Sri Shirdi Saibaba Devasthanam
Landmark: Near Konda Reddy Buruju (Fort)
City/District: Kurnool
State: Andhra Pradesh

Sri K. Veera Swami Naidu an ardent devotee of Shirdi Saibaba installed the beautiful 4 feet tall marble statue of Sai Baba on Vijayadasami day in the month of November 10th 1951.

Saibaba ordered Veera Swami to construct a star shaped temple in his dreams. Soon, he obliged and completed the temple construction on the banks of the Tungabhadra river.

The star shaped temple looks stunning from the distance and sacred Srichakram is present inside the Sai temple where the Baba idol is placed.

Another interesting fact is that the temple is present on the banks of Tungabhadra river.
