Alampur Jogulamba Devi temple in Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana, is one of the 18 famous Shakti Peethas in India, attracting many devotees each year.

The Jogamba or Yogamba (Jogulamba) temple is present at the union of two sacred Hindu rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra. It is a popular tourism destination in Telangana.

Jogulamba-Gadwal is a newly formed district in Telangana, created from the old Mahbubnagar District. It was named after the famous Jogulamba Temple in Alampur, aiming to improve administration and development in the region.

About Alampur Jogulamba Devi Temple:


Alampur town is at a distance of just 28 km from Kurnool City. Legend has it that the upper jaw with a tooth of Devi fell at this very spot, adding to the temple's deep spiritual significan.

Many devotees believe Alampur to be the Dakshina Kailasam (Southern Kailasa) or Sangama Kshetram, a sacred spot located on the tranquil left bank of the holy Tungabhadra River.

Surrounded by the scenic Nallamala Hills, Alampur Temple is mentioned in the sacred Skanda Purana, adding to its spiritual and historical significance. It's a peaceful spot where nature and history come together beautifully.

Alampur Jogulamba is considered the Shakti of Bala Brahmeswara Swamy and the actual construction of the temple dates back to 6th century.

Temple authority are working hard in recent days  to create new facilities at the temple premises.

  11. Sir, This is the first time I am planning to visit singly to Jogulamba temple by Tungabadra express on 28/01/2017 from Hyd and return to Hyd on the same day, is it possible!! Is there any local transportation from Jogulamba Halt railway station to Jogulamba temple by road. Exactly how much time is required to visit all the nine temples in the alampur village as well as Jogulamba main temple with peace of mind. Please throw some light and advise me.

      Of the 9 Nava Brahma temples mentioned here, only Bala Brahma Temple is open for the visitors. ALampur is a very small town and you’ll do better on foot. Jogulamba Temple can be covered in a single day. Happy Journey.
