About Subbaraaya Kotturu Temple:
On our way to Kurnool city we got a chance to visit the famous Valli Devasena Sameta Subrahmanyeswara Swamy temple in Subbaraya Kottur (S. Kottur).
This famous village is present in Panyam Mandal,
Nandyal District of
Andhra Pradesh.
The construction of this temple goes back to 300 years. Beeram Chinna Reddy was a good farmer. While ploughing his agricultural farmland, his plough was struck by a Naga Devata idol underneath the earth.
Later in his vision Subrahmanyeswara Swamy ordered Chinna Reddy to construct a beautiful temple for him. He then constructed a beautiful temple of Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Subrahmanyeswara Swamy.

Swayambhu Subrahmanya Swamy in Sarpa Roopa is performed daily poojas in an open place.Try to visit this famous temple in newly formed Nandyal District along with the famous
Mahanandi Temple. Once it used to be part of
Kurnool District.
