Dharmapuri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Karimnagar District is a very holy temple located on the banks of sacred Godavari River.

The temple is at a distance of 230 km away from Hyderabad city and a mere 29 km from Jagtial town.

The town derived its name after the famous King Dharamavarma who is an ardent devotee of Sri Narasimha Swamy.Godavari river in Dharmapuri is called Dakshina Vahini as it flows from North to South.

Yama Dwitiya/Dwitheeya:

Every month poojas are done on Bharani Nakshatra day and special pujas are held on 'Yama Dwitiya', the second day after Diwali festival.

It is believed that on this day Lord Yama, visits the house of his sister Yamuna Devi for a lunch.

Lord Yama promised his sister that who ever offer prayers on Yama Dwitiya day would not go to Yamaloka and they would be get rid of all misery and distress.
