Lord Subrahmanya, also known as Murugan, Skanda, Kartikeya, Saravanabhava, and many other names, is a major Hindu god in South India.

He is the main deity of war, courage, knowledge, and triumph, born to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
His birth was a divine event, and he was created from the collective energy and power of various gods to defeat the demon Tarakasura.

Because of his six faces, Lord Kartikeya is called "Shanmukha". His birth was a divine event, and he was created from the collective energy and power of many gods to defeat the demon Tarakasura.

Lord Kartikeya is often depicted as a young god riding a peacock, which symbolizes his victory over a demon named Surapadman, who took the form of a peacock.

Kartikeya carries the Vel weapon. It is a divine spear, commonly known as shakti, symbolizing Kundalini shakti. He is the commander of the celestial army. He is also considered the brother of Lord Ganesha.

As a Sadhguru, Shanmukha imparts the divine wisdom of Lord Shiva to all devotees leading them to salvation.
