Kanakadhara Stotram is an ancient Sanskrit hymn composed by the revered philosopher and vedic scholar Sri Adi Shankaracharya.
Reciting the Kanakadhara Stotram is said to bring many benefits such as wealth and prosperity, spiritual growth, mental peace, positive energies and cleansing of negative karma.
Kanakadhara is a Sanskrit term where "Kanaka" means "Gold" and "Dhara" means "Stream" or "Flow." So, Kanakadhara literally translates to "stream of gold."
The stotram is believed to invoke the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu deity of wealth and prosperity. This hymn is often recited to overcome financial difficulties and bring wealth and luck.
The story goes that young Adi Shankaracharya composed this sacred stotram to help a poor woman who had offered him a single gooseberry/amla as an act of charity.
