Mundlapadu Bhavani Shankara Swamy Temple:
Mundlapadu is a beautiful village and a major panchayat in Giddaluru Mandal in
Prakasam District of
Andhra Pradesh, India.
One of the main tourist attractions in Mundlapadu village is "Sri Bhavani Sankara Swamy Temple".

The main garbhalaya includes both Siva lingam and Narasimha Swami. According to ancient scriptures the temple was constructed more than 600 years ago.
It was constructed to show unity among Shiva and Vishnava religions.
Other main idols surrounding the main deity are Bhavani mata, Ganapathi, Sankaracharya, Navagrahas, Veerabhadra, Aswatha Narayana, Rama and Seeta,
Anjaneya Swami and other idols. The Enuvuleru river is flowing at the back of the temple.
Pilgrims take a holy dip in this ancient river during Karthika and Magha Masam period. Devotees celebrate Shivaratri and Ekadasi with great fervor in this temple.

It is believed by local devotees that this ancient temple is protected by Adi Seshu having 12 heads during the night times.
Another attraction is located at the backside of the Narasimha Swamy idol. Here at the back you can see a dark path cave which leads to Kasi.
In olden days, many saints and sages entered this cave to visit Kasi directly. Hence, the village got its name "Munulapuri" which was later transformed as "Mundlapadu".
