శ్రీ అదితిరువాచ
యజ్ఞేశ యజ్ఞపురుషాచ్యుత తీర్థపాద
తీర్థశ్రవ శ్రవణ మంగళ నామధేయ
ఆపన్న లోకవృజినోపశమోదయాధ్య
శం నః కృధీశ భగవన్నసి దీననాథః [1]
విశ్వాయ విశ్వభవన స్థితి సంయమాయ
స్వైరం గృహీత పురుశక్తి గుణాయ భూమ్నే
స్వస్థాయ శశ్వదుప బృంహిత పూర్ణబోధ
వ్యాపాదితాత్మ తమసే హరయే నమస్తే [2]
ఆయుః పరం వపురభీష్టమతుల్యలక్ష్మీ
ర్ద్యౌభూరసాః సకలయోగగుణాస్త్రివర్గః

śrī-Aditiruvācha
Yajñēśa yajña-puruṣāchyuta tīrtha-pāda
tīrtha-śravaḥ śravaṇa maṅgaḷa nāmadhēya
āpanna lōka vr̥jinōpaśamōdayādhya
śaṁ naḥ kr̥dhīśa bhagavannasi dīna-nāthaḥ [1]
Viśvāya viśva bhavana sthiti samyamāya
Svairaṁ gr̥hīta puruśakti guṇāya bhūmnē
svasthāya śaśvad upabr̥mhita pūrṇa bōdha
vyāpāditātma tamasē harayē namastē [2]
Āyuḥ paraṁ vapurabhīṣṭamatulyalakṣmī
dyo-bhū-rasāḥ sakala yōga guṇās tri-vargaḥ
jñānaṁ cha kēvalam ananta bhavanti tuṣṭāt
ttvattō nr̥ṇāṁ kimu sapatna-jayādir āśīḥ [3]

About Lord Vamana
God Vamana is born to Aditi and Kashyapa.
Lord Vishnu, pleased by Aditi's tapas and stotra, assured her to take birth as her son and defeat demons and their king Maha Bali.
Though a Asura King, Maha Bali was a benevolent emperor. He dethroned Indra from Heaven and began Aswamedha yaga after conquering the three planets.
Vishnu took the form of a young, dwarf, brahmin boy named Vamana and asked for three steps of land as measured by his feet as charity.
Even though his Asura Guru Sage Shukracharya, was against it, Maha Bali went along with it. Vamana took on the huge form of Trivikrama and measured all the three worlds, in two steps.
Mahabali offered his head as a third step. Vamana pleased by King Bali's surrender, so he asked Mahabali to live forever in the underworld, which is called Suthala.
The people of Kerala believe that he visits them on their festival of Onam and people of Karnataka believe that Bali Chakravarthi visits them every year on the Balipadyami or Bali Pratipada day of Diwali.
People in Kerala think Bali Chakravarthi visits them on Onam, and people in Karnataka think Bali Chakravarthi comes to earth once a year on the Balipadyami or Bali Pratipada, fourth day of Diwali.
