Wargal Saraswati Devi Temple also known as Chinna Basara is a famous Goddess Saraswati temple located just 52.7 km away from Hyderabad city.

Wargal Temple is present on a small hillock near Wargal village, Siddipet district, Telangana.

We visited Wargal temple around 5:10 pm on a lovely rainy evening day and the atmosphere in the temple was amazing.

The temple attracts many devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Hyderabad throughout the year.

Special Poojas like Chandi Homam is also performed at Wargal temple.

The temple has South Indian architecture and is currently maintained by Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.

Wheelchair facility is available for senior citizens and disabled pilgrims can avail the lift facility to take the blessings of Goddess Saraswathi.

I will provide brief information about the temple and its importance and also include some nice pictures of Wargal Saraswati Temple.

Wargal Saraswati Temple Location:

Wargal temple is present in the Karimnagar highway [Rajiv Rahadari] road and can be reached from Hyderabad in about an hour and a half.

Devotees can travel by APSRTC bus or private vehicles plying towards Karimnagar.

After crossing the Mulug constituency, there is a gateway arch to the left side of the road.

Passing through this arch road for about a kilometer or so viewing the lush green fields on either side leads to the famous Wargal Sarswathi temple.

Wargal Saraswati Temple Aksharabhyasam Timings:

Saraswathi is the Godess of education and kids seeking education are brought to this temple for Aksharabhyasam (initiation into education) before joining them into the school for the first time.

Aksharabhayasam starts from 08:30AM onwards every day and will be performed in groups.

Best days for performing Aksharabhyasam at Saraswathi Temple are: Ugadi, Sravana Pournami day, Vijaya Dasami, Guru Poornima and Basant Panchami day.

List of Items Required for Aksharabhyasam include:

1. Camphor, Kumkum, Agarbatti, Turmeric powder, Chandanam (1 small packet each)
2. Two Coconuts, one kg rice, Fruits, Betel leaves and nuts, flowers and a garland
3. Traditional slate and chalk, Notebook and Pencil

About Wargal Lord Shaneshwara Temple:

Lord Shaneshwara Temple in Wargal is a famous temple of Lord Shani in the Telangana region with a huge statue measuring approximately three feet high.

Special Poojas are performed on Shani Trayodashi with Taila Abhishekam.
