Sri Sarva Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a 500-year-old sacred temple located in the Nallamala forest area near the Giddalur Nandyal Ghat road.

This famous temple is near to Gajulapalle Village in Mahanandi Mandal, Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh State.

Lord Narasimha is the primary deity of this temple. Sarva Narasimha Swamy Temple is considered one of the 108 Narasimha Kshetrams located in India.

To save young Prahlada, Lord Srihari took the form of Ugra Narasimha. After killing the Asura King Hiranyakashipu, Lord Narasimha in 'Ugra Avataram' (aggressive form) entered to this Nallamala forest and married Chenchu Lakshmi.

A small temple of Sarva Narasimha Swamy is present at the entrance of the bridge and it dates back to 1955.

You need to walk on a small bridge to reach the main temple. The water flowing under the bridge and the surrounding lush green forest gives a pleasant feeling.

Lord Anjaneya Swami Temple is also present on the top of the hill and there are about 40 steps that you need to climb to reach the temple.

Earlier Sri Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire renovated this centuries-old temple during 1513-1518 AD.

Sri Krishnadevaraya constructed the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum), Mandapam, Prakaram, Koneru (Temple tank) and also made Utsava Murthulu idols for temple procession.

New improvements are now being carried out in the temple premises. The forest department of Andhra Pradesh is taking care of the protection, conservation and management of the surrounding Nallamala forest area. This is an ancient peaceful temple in the Nallamalla forest range.

Avadhuta Sri Kasireddy Nayana Swamy, Viboothi Swamy and many other ancient saints stayed and did tapas (penance) at this place.

The famous Bogada railway tunnel, which stretches for 2 km, is very close to this temple.

When to Visit:


Many devotees from near by areas visit this temple on Saturday.

Best time to visit this temple is during Winter season as you can see the water flowing under the bridge. 

The pure water flowing under the bridge is considered sacred as it contains medical properties in it. Locals look for diamonds when water floods this area during the rainy season.

Kartika maasam, Dussehra Navratri are celebrated with great enthusiasm by devotees.

On Kanuma festival day, the third day of Makar Sankranti, special pooja and abhishekam are performed to Lord Narasimha Swamy in this temple. Grama and Paruveta Utsavam are also celebrated on this festival day.
